Support Policy
The CLA Computer Replacement Program assists departments with making sure all computers are eligible for support as defined in the CLA-OIT Securing Private Data implementation plan. Regional Technicians provide technical support for any computer that:
- was purchased with University funds
- met minimum specifications at the time of purchase
- is less than four years old
- is located on campus
Computers that do not meet these requirements must have an identified alternate professional IT support contact. While supported, CLA-OIT will cover all hardware repair costs for PB, TS, and GS computers.
Supporting Older Computers
According to University and CLA policies, every computer must have designated professional IT support and adhere to an approved securing private data implementation plan. Unsupported computers are a security risk to the department, the College, and the University. Please refer to the Securing Private Data materials for more details.
