Computer Replacement Program
The CLA Computer Replacement Program (CRP), a purchasing program organized by CLA-OIT, is designed to simplify the computer purchasing process for CLA departments and users. CLA provides computer funding for many different types of users to meet technology support and security guidelines.
CRP changes: May 2009
Vendor change. CLA-OIT regional technicians have selected a new vendor for our Windows computers: HP. We have tested models and worked closely with the HP representatives. We have confidence the HP computers will perform as well as or better than the Dell models we have worked with for many years. HP is also offering very good prices—a benefit we are passing on to the departments.
Deadline. Friday, May 29th.
Eligibility change. Eligible computers are 3.0 years old or older this semester.
EFS change. In the past, we would submit one large order with many CUFS accounts. Since EFS account strings require approvals from every department, this will significantly slow down the ordering process. Instead, CLA-OIT will purchase the computers using the CLA CRP account and then process reimbursements (Journal Entries) for the department portions.
