Currently Supported Standards
CLA Office of Information Technology guarantees support for the following hardware and software:
- Mac and PC systems less than 3 years old, on campus, purchased with University funds, and meeting minimum standards at the time of purchase.
- Operating systems:
- PC: Windows 2000 (SP4), XP Professional (SP1)
- Mac: OS 10.2.8+
- NOTE: Currently supported systems (as outlined above) with unsupported operating systems (Windows 98, Mac OS 9) will be fully supported until they are eligible for upgrade.
- University or CLA-licensed Office Suites:
- PC: Microsoft Office 2000, XP, 2003 (including Outlook); Corel WordPerfect 12+
- Mac: Microsoft Office v.X, 2004 (including Entourage)
- FileMaker 4.1+
- Meeting Maker 7+
- Oracle Calendar 9.x
- Adobe Reader 5.1+
- E-mail software:
- PC: Eudora 6.1, Outlook Express 6, PocoMail (requires user license), Netscape Messenger 7.x, Mozilla Messenger, Thunderbird
- Mac: Eudora 6.1, Apple Mail, Netscape Messenger 7.x, Mozilla Messenger, Thunderbird
- Web Browsers:
- PC: Netscape Communicator 4.7x (Forms Nirvana users only), Netscape Communicator 7.x, Internet Explorer 6.0, Mozilla (latest version), Firefox 0.8+
- Mac: Netscape Communicator 7.1, Internet Explorer 5.2, Safari 1.x, Mozilla (latest version), Firefox 0.8+
- Symantec Antivirus
Support for other hardware and software is not guaranteed, and is provided as time, talent, and resources allow.
